Our master’s group project is a collaboration between five master’s students at the Bren School and our client, Strong Roots Congo. Our team worked to inform decision-making on community forests in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo to protect the critically endangered Eastern Lowland (Grauer’s) gorilla while simultaneously improving the wellbeing of local communities. I developed the proposal for this project, and became a co-project manager for the project when it was accepted. My teammate Zoe and I recently had the opportunity to give a public presentation of our work, which you can watch here.
This executive summary gives an overview of our research. You can find a copy of it and other deliverables on the Bren website.
